part 4

Days before “the fall” and the boiling frog story

It is said that if you put a frog in very hot water, it will try to jump out in a desperate attempt to save its skin…makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? However, if you put that frog in cold water, and slowly heat up the water to boiling, the frog for some reason doesn’t realize its danger and blissfully boils to death.

It is becoming painfully obvious to many that the latter portion of the above story aptly describes the condition of our modern church system. When observing it through the eyeglasses of Ezekiel 36, it also becomes obvious that God has His hand in His children’s destiny. I would say that only the “very self-satisfied” Christian would declare at this stage in church history that “all things continue as they were since the beginning of the creation”. 2 Peter 3:4

We can be very grateful that there is a wiser head behind the scenes that sees the overall picture, and Who has our best interests at heart.

Peter Ormerod’s recent article in the Guardian sums up the situation quite well. Entitled: “So Christianity is no longer the norm? Going underground will do it good”. (LINK)it seems Peter has been reading his Bible, or God just used him to state the obvious. Either way he got it right…well, partly right. According to Revelation chapter 12 verse 6 the church will indeed go underground. Yet according to Revelation 11 verse 3 not all will go underground. The thing that is so fascinating about Ezekiel 36 is that it quite clearly corroborates what is being said in those chapters in Revelation.

So what comes next?

With or without our consent God is going to move along with His “schedule” simply because His plan for man and “His” planet does not reckon on power-hungry, multi-national dreamers. Furthermore, despite the opinions of many, God is not a reckless tyrant, but instead is infinitely more interested in saving mankind than even man himself is.

This concept is bought admirably in the following verses in Ezekiel 36.

But I had pity for Mine Holy Name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord God; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for Mine Holy Name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. And I will sanctify My great Name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes”.(Ezekiel 36:21-23)

Ezekiel 36. . .The days of preparation

God chastises His children out of a loving heart, always with the intent to heal and to make right.  He has the heart of a Father; His greatest desire is to have us reach our potential, not in a worldly sense, but spiritually. God has an amazing future planned for man and this planet, but it cannot be realized purely through the dreams and desires of man alone. Man has this burning desire for independence, to be free of restraints that bind him to something or someone bigger than himself. How silly we are to think we created ourselves or were a product of our own genius.

The Bible teaches us that God gave man dominion over all His creation (Psalms 8:6) However, man’s attempt, since creation, at governing God’s creation has been a dismal failure, to say the least. Sad to say, we are the ones who will bring an end to the world as we know it. (Matthew 24: 22). Nevertheless, God, in His love, still wants to work alongside us, His children, to right the wrongs and bring His creation back online. (Revelation 20:4) God has done what we could not do, through the gift of salvation; he has changed the stony, carnal, selfish heart of worldly man. He has given us His Royal Law -the law of love, which replaced the stone tablets of the laws of Moses. The days of God’s children’s attempt to win as many as possible to the message of salvation is coming to a close. Now we are entering the final days, spiritual Israel’s days of preparation. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4, 5)

Now is not the time to go to church, now is the time to be the church. Come out from among them and separate yourself in spirit, for God will have His army, an army that will be designed to withstand the dark and cloudy last days of the end time.

“When it is evening, ye say, it will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, it will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; buy can ye not discern the signs of the times? Matthew 16:3,4.

“don’t worry about the scabbard, you won’t need it. We are at war.”

I want to give you a personalized list of the enemies in your life that pull you down and hold you back from rising above.

Enemy One: Complaining and negativity. Strive to adopt the attitude on every occasion and at every instance where you’re tested to “in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” Put on the spirit of faith and trust, knowing that God has allowed or sent this situation or this little obstacle your way to see how you’re going to react.

Make a list of any of your personal “situations.” Are you truly content in every one? If not, pray the spirit of contentment into every area of your life. This will make a huge difference in your level of faith, not to mention the facial expression of the new you!

Enemy Two: Criticalness. Fight the tendency within you to become complacent and settled down in spirit‚ the attitude of, “Well, I’m okay‚ but look at so-and-so.” Fight to only look at others with faith and through the eyes of My total and unconditional love. Beware of criticalness, even in small ways.

Enemy Three: Fight rigidity and dogmatism. As you grow older, it’s a natural tendency to start getting into ruts, whether they be in your behavior‚ reactions, personal habits, pet peeves and preferences, or even in the way you look at life and others. These are ruts that Christians are often unwilling to climb out of, for they are perceived as being a part of you that the Lord is unable to change‚ especially as you get older.

Enemy Four: The impulse to say, “I can’t!” and “It can’t be done!”You must resist the “it’s impossible” tendencies in your life. Remember that it’s Jesus working through you, and the power to change is nothing of yourself. All it requires is your giving yourself to Him and saying, “Jesus, I want to change, I need to change‚ and I’m willing to make the sacrifices involved in bringing that change to fruition.” When you say, “I can’t‚” it means that your thinking is centered on yourself and your circumstances rather than on Jesus So you’re defeated before you even start. Exercise the weapon of faith against this enemy!

Enemy Five: The temptation to let down the standard,to seek the easy way out, the lazy way, to not challenge yourself and apply the Word to every facet of your life, desiring to continue to change. The weapon for this is living more in the Word, to love Jesus with all of your heart and soul, and to ardently seek after those times together with Him. Seek at all times to love Jesus more and to be more like Him in all you say and do. Your First Love, is the only antidote to resist spiritual degeneration in your life and give you back the glowing newness of a new spiritual babe, one who is so in love with her First Love and so desirous of becoming all that He wants and knows you can become.

Enemy Six: Dullness and pessimism. Are you no longer expecting miracles? Has it been a long time since you felt your heart leap with joy over some new truth—or since you did the unusual or offbeat thing, just out of sheer joy and happiness at being one of His chosen few, one of His brides? If it has been a long time, then break out of your ruts and allow Jesus to surprise you, to thrill you, and to manifest His ability and power to regenerate and change you and give you even more zest and fervor for life and living than your earlier years! Strive to be an “up” person. Grab hold of enthusiasm and optimism as opposed to your natural tendency to be a “realist” on all occasions. (Excerpts taken from “Rising Above”)

the bride of Christ gone—AWOL

“Lethargy is a strange and ominous creature. It seeks to creep into your midst unawares, often little by little, building up slowly and over a period of time.”

“I’ll tell you what the hell lethargy is—Lethargy has deadened many within My church. The world has been under his spell since the beginning. Many misunderstand this demon. His mission is to cast a blanket of spiritual laziness over the souls of men. He works with other demons to distract and lull to sleep the masses. Prosperity is one of his favorite tools, which he uses against My church children with great success.”

“The very nature of lethargy, keeps you from taking note of it. It seems like a small thing, and there are so many other much more pressing matters to tend to, so you ignore it‚ thinking it’ll go away or be resolved in time. But it doesn’t just go away, because you’ve forgotten the law of spiritual progress: ” Jesus speaking

“You’re not alarmed when a day goes by without your having spent time in My Word or seeking My voice and counsel in prophecy. And then another day goes by, and another. You eke out a little time in the spirit each day with a small prayer here, a little devotions there, a quick praise time here, a few words of love to Me there, as if these could appease Me like sacrifices to some god, lest your conscience overtake you for forsaking Me fully.” What the hell is Lethargy

Lethargy has taken its toll—a vast army AWOL

“If you don’t keep on getting‚ you’ll lose what you’ve got. If you don’t keep striving for victories‚ striving to move forward, striving to follow closely along the path that I’m leading, you begin to fall behind—and not only fall behind, but slide back. Those are the principles of spiritual physics at work‚ as sure and as definable as the rules of physics that govern your physical world. You ignore them at your own peril.” (End of message from Jesus)

  What the hell is Lethargy

Battle Field of our mind

“Evil never surrenders its hold without a sore fight. We never pass into any spiritual inheritance through the delightful exercises of a picnic, but always through the grim contentions of the battle field. It is so in the secret realm of the soul. Every faculty which wins its spiritual freedom does so at the price of blood. Apollyon is not put to flight by a courteous request; he straddles across the full breadth of the way, and our progress has to be registered in blood and tears. This we must remember or we shall add to all the other burdens of life the gall of misinterpretation. We are not “born again” into soft and protected nurseries, but in the open country where we suck strength from the very terror of the tempest. “We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
–Dr. J. H. Jowett

What the hell is Lethargy you ask—Lethargy is an arch-demon straight from hell itself!

“Most people look at the past, and that’s where their faith is—in the past.”

is your faith in the past?

“Think of a dam and all the water that’s behind it. If you were to make a hole in that dam at the bottom, you would see a little trickle of water coming out, but unseen, behind that little trickle you would have the force and weight of all the water that is stored behind the dam. You can access a little bit of the power with the tiny hole, some power is generated from the little trickle, but think of how much more there could be if you were to enlarge the hole! If you were to open the floodgates at the bottom, you would have much more power!

Your faith is like the hole, and the greater the faith, the more power is generated. Right now, each of you must exercise your faith muscles. You must put Me to the test. In some way you must enlarge that “hole in the dam.”

So what’s the problem

“When you think of great faith, what comes to mind? Is it the missionaries of the past, the prophets of old, Myself and the miracles of My disciples? That’s just the problem. Most people look at the past, and that’s where their faith is—in the past. They don’t see that the same power—in fact‚ greater power—is here right now!”

“Spiritual lethargy is something that creeps up on you. It envelops you comfortably in its lukewarm cloak, and then gradually begins cooling you off, step by step, degree by degree, so that you don’t even realize that you’re getting colder and colder.—Until finally you find yourself in a state of total spiritual frigidity, unable to move, unable to change, frozen and alienated from the path I would have you follow.” What the Hell is Lethargy

or this?

“Familiarity breeds a lack of respect, which eventually leads to contempt. You don’t yet have contempt for My Word, but you also don’t respect it as you should, as is manifested by how you’ve let your heart hunger after other things. But this path, when followed to its extremity, leads to that contempt which has caused many to turn back from Me, to follow Me and My ways and My prophets no more.”

or this   “Not applying the Word right away or as wholeheartedly as you could have.”

or this  ” Not resting in Me or putting yourself in a position where I am the wind beneath your wings.”

or this  Stuffing your life so full of “important” things like work, play, friends, trinkets, entertainment…then reaching a point where you are too preoccupied for the spiritual.

or this….Procrastination or this….. lack of desire and motivation  or this…. natural tendencies of old age or this….. just plain old human nature or..or..or……

read Matthew 25

“It is My Word that is most important, not My work. My work is very important, yes, but it is My Word that I have exalted even above My Name. It is My Word that shall never pass away. It is My Word of which I spoke when I said every jot and tittle of it will be fulfilled. I am My Word‚ and My Word will endure forever, and its presence in you is vitally important if you are to do My work as you desire” (Psalms 138:2; Matthew 24:35; 5:18; John 1:14).

If this is not important to you then thisis your destiny!

“you’ll lose the burning desire to reach every soul that you can, that motivation to keep going until all the world is reached.”

Rev. 3:14, 15

“I believe that one reason the church of god at this present moment has so little influence over the world is because the world has so much influence over the church.”           Charles H. Spurgeon

“This is not a battle that can be lost; it must be won, there are no two ways about it! We must win, for Heaven and Earth depend on it.” Jesus Speaking

HOT, COLD OR LUKEWARM?

“As a whole, the church system has been a colossal failure. Most churches don’t even vaguely resemble what Jesus told His followers to do. Have you become like the old church in your heart? Are you still dropped out? Do you still live like Jesus’ disciples? When people see your sample and visit your home, do they see something different? Or are you just like everyone else, trying to make a living and survive? Just to preach the Gospel or even be a missionary is not that different; that’s the surface emphasis of most churches and preachers. There are plenty of evangelists who are preaching Jesus and getting people saved. Some churches and church members do too, and they even preach a pretty good message. But what we’re talking about is the church system as a whole, where in some large denominations such as the Southern Baptists (with 15 million members), 95 percent of their members never witness and tell a soul about Jesus! And they and many others spend billions of dollars on their church buildings and church system that could have gone to helping the lost.” Maria Fontaine

“I know thy works that thou art neither cold nor hot: i would thou wert cold or hot. so then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, i will spew thee out of my mouth.” revelation 3: 14, 15.

What is your goal in life?

How would you describe your personal lifestyle?

What kind of sample of a Christian are you on a daily basis?

How much compromise of your convictions have you allowed in your life?

How do you spend your time?

When was the last time you witnessed to someone in depth, and then followed up on that person?

If people were to spend a day observing you as an individual, what would they conclude is your profession?

“THEREFORE SHALL THE OLD VESTURES BE REMOVED and she shall be clothes in a new garment and a new look and all things shall become new and old things shall pass away and I will have a new bride who will love Me and obey Me and do My will and bear Me children, no longer barren as she was, for this is My Will for this last generation, and I will take the weak things to confound the mighty, the foolish things to bring to naught the wisdom of the wise and raise up her that was not as though she were.” prophecy Old Church New Church

“My children, this is the breeding ground of flatlanders! This is how so many in the world, who begin as idealistic and even searching individuals, turn cold and apathetic. They have to have money to live and they don’t know how else to get it, so they turn to the typical job. Slowly it numbs their senses and sucks them into the matrix of the System, the conformity of the world. That’s why I gave you a better way. Yes, living by faith is a better way! I didn’t say it was an easier way‚ but it is a better way. This is My general counsel to you.” Jesus speaking.

Christianity is decaying and going down into the gutter because the god of modern Christianity is not the God of the bible.      A.W.Tozer

“A GENERATION THAT SHALL YET COME SHALL PRAISE ME and a people that is not yet born shall sing My Name, even in the midst of adversity, for I will make them a people which were no people and I will be their God and they shall do exploits, for they truly know Me and they are truly strong.” prophecy…Old Church New Church
